Specialty Wood Centre

About Us
The Specialty WOOD CENTRE was established in 1998 to cater for woodworkers seeking attractive and unique timbers. The shop and warehouse is located in the main industrial estate of Toronto, 25 km from Newcastle NSW and only 10 minutes from the F3 highway from Sydney to northern NSW. The stock on hand typically exceeds 150 m3 of timber in various forms and sizes including boards, slabs, burls and veneers.

Stocks of timber change regularly and suit a wide range of uses by cabinet makers, hobbiests, boatbuilders, wood turners, musical instrument makers and craft persons who require specific materials including native and exotic timbers in wide slabs large square sections, veneers for marquetry and inlay or thick pieces for wood turning blanks and a variety of colours for intarsia. The timber is sold by the piece or by the cubic metre and small quantities are especially catered for.

The price of the timber varies as a function of figure, natural features, quality, width, thickness, length and rarity and is therefore difficult to provide a price list to cover all the potential variations in specialty woods. Whilst some prices have been posted on the following web pages, prices not provided on the web site can be faxed or emailed upon request.
